Radiology Department of Beijing Tiantan Hospital，Captial Medical University is a prominent healthcare discipline and a nationally key clinical specialty. It was granted authorization for doctorate degree program and established as a postdoctoral research station in 1998. The department stands as the foremost neuro-imaging center specializing in research, diagnosis, and treatment. It also functions as a clinical drug trial base and a residency training hub. Currently, there are six doctoral tutors and three master’s tutors in the department. The department is well-equipped and advanced, with nine MRI scanners, an intraoperative MRI scanner, seven CT scanners, nine DRs, and nine DSA machines.

Established by academician Zhongcheng Wang in 1980 and guided by esteemed old-generation of radiologists, especially professors Jianping Dai and Peiyi Gao, the department has evolved into a modern institution with outstanding department culture and robust technical expertise. Under the current leadership of professor Yaou Liu, the department has nurtured a cadre of academic leaders and young talents including national high-level science and technology leader, Beijing distinguished young scholar, High-level health talent in the Beijing health system, Beijing young scientific talent and Capital Medical University young scientist, etc. In the realm of scientific research, the department has achieved remarkable success, garnering accolades such as the first prize of Beijing Science and Technology. Numerous national and international research programs are led by doctors and scientist from Radiology Department, including projects supported by the key program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the national “14th Five-Year Plan”, the national “13th Five-Year Plan”, and the Major international Joint Research Program. Furthermore, the department has made significant contributions to academic literatures in recent years, with numerous papers published in esteemed international SCI journals, such as Lancet Neurology, Brain, Neuro-Oncology, Radiology, Neurology, and Medical Image Analysis, etc. Additionally, several national patents have been successfully secured.
